Sarah Vilhauer-Kajkowski

I was born and raised in Southern California, grew up in a Deaf family household and have always been bilingual in English and Sign Language. Growing up among different cultural and ethnic communities as well as navigating two languages has ingrained a love of diversity in me. I continue to want to see more equity and inclusion in the workplace.

I have worked in a multitude of settings that involved placing people at center focus, from customer service to education and mental health, to human resources.

In 2019 I started working on my M.B.A. at George Fox University because I wanted to gain skills that would help me to improve the workplace. My desire is to work towards providing more equitable opportunities for people that are often left out by the structural inequities that exist. I am excited to develop my career in the nonprofit world with Green Owl. I am also currently studying at Portland Community College to obtain my ASL interpreter’s license, another puzzle piece in my professional journey.

In my free time I enjoy getting outside with family and friends, walking on the beach, kayaking and riding my bike. Music fuels me, as well as relaxing at home watching K-Dramas with my Chiweenie, Jet.
